Because not only is Presley alright, he'd be "alright dating her best friend" too.
Many artists might try to place a facade between them and their audience, yet Aronson feels it's incredibly important to be honest with yourself in songwriting and share stories even if they happen to be incredibly painful ones such as this. He notes that perhaps this raw openness comes from his experience in acting, enabling him with the experience of telling emotionally honest stories. "I remember it like yesterday, and I can't get it off my mind", simple yet relatable, Aronson recalls the relationship as a whole and yet is still able to approach it with a respectable lack of shame. 'She Left Me' is stating a fact, and while there's a balance of emotions in play, joy is able to come out on top. This joy isn't an act, it's who Presley Aronson is. And though it may not come so easily for all of us, him sharing that part of him can help all of us feel a little more 'alright'.
