Joji makes his triumphant return with his first album in 3 and a half years

Joji, formerly known as the controversial YouTube content creator TVFilthyFrank, is coming out with his 4th studio album called, "Piss in the Wind". This will be the first time he has released an album in around 3 and a half years since his last release back in 2022 called, "SMITHEREENS". He has gained a cult following ever since releasing his first project back in 2017 called, "In Tongues" which was an EP. But before he started releasing music as Joji, he did something else.

Joji, or his actual name George Kusunoki Miller, started his career as a YouTuber in 2011. He called his channel TVFilthyFrank where he would make a lot of very controversial videos on the platform that would push the boundaries of what YouTube allowed. TVFilthyFrank was most well known for his character, Pink Guy, where he would do a lot of weird pranks, stunts and a variety of other "peculiar" things. But one thing that Pink Guy was known for was he would make parody and comical songs. That is where Joji started to dabble in music.

Eventually, after all of the years of making polarizing content, he pushed the boundary too far in 2016 with a slew of controversial videos that would force YouTube to step in. Joji used that as a calling card and he started to seriously pursue music. He would drop his last ever video on YouTube called, "FRANCIS OF THE FILTH (OUT NOW)" which would come out on September 27, 2017, ending off his characters, including Pink Guy, and ending his YouTube career.

But just over a month after he ended his YouTube career, he would drop his first EP on November 3, 2017 called, "In Tongues." He introduced the world to Joji for the first time. Fans heard Joji with his signature mumbling, whispery vocals with soft piano in the background occasionally interrupted with massive 808s and loud, moody, and vibey synths.

Fans instantly fell in love with Joji, skyrocketing him to success and in 2018, he would release his first official album called, "BALLADS 1". He would follow up that release by starting a tour of the same name in late 2018. Ever since then, he has built a loyal fanbase and left the TVFilthyFrank world behind. Joji would go on to release multiple successful songs and two that hit well over a billion streams on Spotify. They were, "Glimpse of Us", and "SLOW DANCING IN THE DARK". The hype was real for Joji.

But ever since releasing his last album in 2022, he went quiet. Joji fans were wondering where Joji went. They were eagerly awaiting a new release from him, and they got that answer last year. Joji announced a new single called, "PIXELATED KISSES", which had the internet and all of his fans going ballistic. The wait was finally over for the Joji fans.

"PIXELATED KISSES" is a track that blends pure chaos with Joji's soft, mumbling voice. It blends in a way that you don't expect it to blend. The chaos of the instruments in the background are broken through with Joji's gentle vocals. But it still adds to the song in all of the right ways. Joji would go onto release more singles like, "If it Only Gets Better" and "LOVE YOU LESS". He would release a brand new EP called, "Last of a Dying Breed", on January 23rd of this year. That included the aforementioned songs like "PIXELATED KISSES" and a slew of new music.

Joji is set to release his new album this Friday. Me, and a lot of other Joji fans, are waiting in eager anticipation for Joji to make his triumphant return.
