Historic Moments and Special Performances at the ACM Awards

Last night country music's biggest stars got together to celebrate the 52nd Academy of Country Music Awards in the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The night was filled with fantastic performances by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood, and many more.

The show was kicked off by a medley featuring all nominees of the category Entertainer of the Year, which Jason Aldean won for the second time in a row. Miranda Lambert won Female Vocalist of the Year for the eighth consecutive year, breaking her own record for consecutive wins in that category, which is a historic moment. Besides this, she also won the award for the Album of the Year for The Weight of These Wings.

Thomas Rhett won two awards.

For the first time ever Thomas Rhett won the Academy of Country Music Award. He was awarded for Male Vocalist of the Year and for his song "Die a Happy Man" as Song of the Year, for which he won both as an artist and songwriter.

Florida Georgia Line won the off camera categories Vocal Event of the Year for "May We All" featuring Tim McGraw and Single Record of the Year for "H.O.L.Y." The duo received the awards from ACM CEO Pete Fisher at the ACM Party for a Cause: WME Bash at the Beach event on Saturday April 1st.

The award for the Vocal Duo of the Year went to the Brothers Osborne, Little Big Town was awarded the Vocal Group of the Year for the fourth time, Maren Morris won in the category New Female Vocalist of the Year, the New Male Vocalist of the Year award went to Jon Pardi, "Forever Young" received the award for Video of the Year, and Songwriter of the Year is Lori McKenna.

The ACM Awards featured a lot of special collaborations throughout the show. Reba McEntire performed the song "Back to God" with the contemporary Christian artist Lauren Daigle. The country music couple Tim McGraw and Faith Hill performed the world television premiere of their new single " Speak To a Girl." New Female Vocalist of the Year Maren Morris and Male Vocalist of the Year Thomas Rhett sang their song "Craving You," Cole Swindell and Dierks Bentley performed "Flatliner," and Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban sang their hit "The Fighter." Probably the best performance of the evening was the collaboration of Florida Georgia Line and the Backstreet Boys with "God, Your Mama & Me" followed by the popular hit "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)".
