Ricky Duran is advocating for Suicide Prevention month in new song, “Waiting On You”

Ricky Duran, talented singer/songwriter and The Voice runner up, is not afraid of vulnerability. In his newest song “Waiting On You,” he opens up about his first hand experience with suicide. In 2012, Ricky lost his dad to suicide and shares the impact it has on his life. Ricky stated in an interview that the song,“deals with the effects that suicide has on the family members and friends who are left after.”

In the same interview with Fox31 Denver, he noted that this was a hard song to release. However, Ricky’s braveness is helping those effected by suicide all over the world. He wanted to help raise awareness by releasing the song during Suicide Prevention Month and contributing 50% of the song sales to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Ricky’s heart for advocating for others is clearly shown in all of his music. He continues to craft songs that are true to himself and his passion - no matter the level of vulnerability that it takes. “Waiting on you” is available on all major streaming services.
