Interview with Rosie Dean About the Development of Her Music & Brand

Rosie Dean is a singer, actress, producer, TikToker and so much more. With a degree in Drama at NYU Tisch, she has since been working professionally in film & theatre while simultaneously writing her original music. Rosie Dean describes her music as “the kind of thing you walk down the street listening to while feeling like you’re in your own personal music video.” Her musical influences include Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, Billie Eilish & Lorde. Rosie’s debut, self-produced EP, "All Grown Up" features new tracks that really capture Rosie's essence as an artist and her love for various genres. Her EP will be followed by more music under her band, ESIE, and future singles this Summer. When she’s not performing, you can find Rosie Dean on TikTok where she writes skits for her over 300k followers. Rosie Dean is also the Chief Operating Officer of award-winning multimedia Production Company, CK Productions Inc. (and all of its branches). How are you taking charge of your music right now? I’ve been able to gather a really phenomenal team of creatives to help me throughout the entire EP production process- and through these people I have learned so much about recording, mixing, promotion, social media… the list goes on. I’m taking in the advice and guidance that my team around me has to offer and it makes me feel so much better about dropping music! How are you charging up while promoting your latest and greatest? This way I feel super passionate about every bit of content I release- and it makes me so happy! What is a big declaration you want to make known when it comes to your music? I don’t have a set sound- I’m still trying to figure out where my voice sits best and resonates best with my audience. So in this EP, you’ll hear a lottttt of different sounds- some airy and soft, some pop punk, some smooth bedroom pop, and some a little bit more electronic. People are multifaceted so I think albums and EPs can be too! Is there more of you as an artist that fans haven't seen yet? There’s so much more to me than my audience knows. My primary platform is TikTok- where I share mostly sketches and impressions and silly content like that. I’m nervous about how my followers will respond to me introducing my original music to my feed… but also really excited! I think it will resonate with a lot of people. What do you have lined up performance wise for your fans to listen to the music? I’m still working on putting my band together and getting things sounding crisp in rehearsals… but we have some great shows lined up. Follow me on Instagram at @rosiedean21 for dates as they come! Is there something that you could take it or leave it when it comes to the music industry? I love how independent artists are able to make such strides in the industry these days. It all feels a lot more accessible than it did in the days before social media. Before you get into what you'll be making next, what is something that is the deal breaker for you on whether the project gets made? I have to be passionate about the songs I’ve written and have a good set of concepts to match! I know a project is gonna be good when I can fall asleep with my mind racing with ideas.
