Nashville-based, alt-country/roots rockers, Flying Buffaloes, will kick off their national LOADED & ROLLIN' TOUR in Knoxville this Friday with a new member and a salvo of appearances and excitement surrounding their critically-acclaimed debut album, LOADED & ROLLIN', which has now earned well over 54,000 streams and counting since its independent release last fall.
Called a "collective of rip-roaring Americana players" by Mother Church Pew, the sonically tight, high-energy group is pleased to announce the addition of another shredder to its consortium, Brandon Cantwell, who will take over the role of bass guitarist for the group. Brandon, a Chicago-area native, is the younger brother of Buffaloes' dynamic lead guitarist, Tommy Leland.
"Having Brandon in the band gives us more creative freedom." explains Barry Stone (lead vocals and former bass player for the group). "I can play acoustic guitar and free up Johan to play keys, or vice versa, or we can grab the electric, and trade or twin with Tommy. Johan and I are multi-instrumentalists so it adds a whole new creative element and versatility to the band while allowing us to focus on our lead roles. We are extremely excited and fans will be too.”
The now five-piece band, comprised of members Johan Stone (Lead Vocals, Guitar, Harmonica, Keys), Barry Stone (Lead Vocals, Guitar, Keys), Tommy Leland (Lead Guitar), Brandon Cantwell (Bass), and Danny Pratt (Drums), will embark on their year-long national tour beginning this Friday, Jan. 31 at 10 p.m. EDT at Barley's Tap Room & Pizzeria (200 E. Jackson Ave.). In support, Flying Buffaloes are making a number of media appearances, and are slated to perform LIVE on the award-winning WDVX's (89.9 and 102.9 FM) "Blue Plate Special" on Thursday, Jan. 30 at 12 p.m. EDT/11 a.m. CDT. On Friday, Jan. 31, the group will appear on both WATE 6 (ABC) "Living East Tennessee" at 3 p.m. Eastern, and on WBIR 10 News (NBC) at 4 p.m. Eastern. Fans are invited to tune in and get a taste of Flying Buffaloes' boundless energy, honest lyrics, musicianship, and refined harmonies that have made them one of the hottest bands in Music City.
