How are you taking charge of your music right now? To me taking charge means taking ownership, feeling empowered and taking responsibility. In music, to me that means committing to myself and the vision I have, while continuing to learn and evolve along the way. There’s a balance between action and listening that is so important. How are you charging up for the release of New Angels? Playing some piano and taking walks! Both always energize me. What is a big declaration you want to make known when it comes to New Angels? I wrote this song about how sometimes it can seem like there is no hope for a better world in the face of so many challenges, like the pandemic and climate change, and that there must be another way to approach it rather than just up hope. The reason I wrote this is to remind ourselves that we can create change, even when things look bleak. Is there more of you as an artist that fans haven't seen yet? Absolutely :) I'm just at the beginning of this journey. Will you perform the song LIVE soon? Yes, I am planning for some live shows in 2022, so excited to play live again! Is there something that you could take it or leave it when it comes making a record? Leave closed-mindedness and judgement at the door. I think both stifle creativity. Before you get into what you'll be making next, what is something that is the deal breaker for you on whether the project gets made? Whether I am really feeling it, and it feels authentic and meaningful. If I am not inspired by it, then it’s harder to maintain that momentum and do all the work required to ensure it is a success.
