New Album after Four Years

Charlie Worsham released his new album "Beginning of Things" last Friday, April 21. This is the newest album since his debut "Rubberband," which was released four years ago. “I had fallen out of love with music, and making this record put me back in love with it on a level I hadn’t felt since I was a teenager, ” Worsham said in a press release.

On the 13 tracks the singer, songwriter and musician worked together with the producers Frank Liddell and Eric Masse, as well as executive producer Arturo Buenahora Jr. Worsham co-wrote nine of the 13 songs on the album.

Worsham doesn't limit his music to one genre, he plays country and jazz on his new album and also has some indie rock influences. "Southern By the Grace of God" is one of his country songs. Whereas "Call You Up" is more jazzy and "Birthday Suit" is influenced by indie rock.

One of the great features of "Beginning of Things" is that Charlie Worsham speaks the truth. In his song "Please People Please" he sings of being done with trying to follow everyone, as he realizes that he can't please people. “There will always be someone to criticize your style / cutting other people down is a means to a miserable end,” he sings.

The greatest marks on the album are left by the country songs including "Old Time's Sake," in which he paints a picture of himself as a gentleman, and "The Beginning of Things," which were both co-written by Charlie Worsham, Jeremy Spillman and Brent Cobb.
