Critical Lines and Great Collaborations

Love and War, Brad Paisley.

Three years after his last album, Brad Paisley finally released the new one, "Love and War," today, April 21. His 11th studio album is full of collaborations with great artists, good new songs and critical lines.

"Love and War" was produced by Brad Paisley and Luke Wooten and was released by Arista Nashville. The single "Today" was the first song on the album that was released in October 2016 and went to the top of the charts. Two weeks ago, on April 7, Paisley released "Last Time for Everything." All the 16 tracks on the album are co-written by Paisley with co-writers such as Brent Anderson, Chris DuBois, Kelley Lovelace, Lee Thomas Miller, Ashley Gorley and more.

On the new album Paisley collaborated with Mick Jagger, Bill Anderson and most surprisingly of all with Johnny Cash. Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger appears on the song "Drive of Shame," which was written by Paisley, Jagger and Matt Clifford. Anderson is featured on the track "Dying to See Her." Paisley and Anderson wrote this song together. The title track of "Love and War" written by Paisley and John Fogerty also features the folk-rock artist. Two songs, "Grey Goose Chase" and "Solar Power Girl," feature the hip-hop and R&B producer Timbaland.

"Gold All Over the Ground" is credited with Johnny Cash as a co-writer. The song adapts a poem written by Johnny Cash. The track transforms the poem into a new tune and even features Cash's voice at the beginning and the end of the song.

"Heaven South" is a typical Brad Paisley song, where he can show his guitar chops. The song "Last Time for Everything" has a classic country lyrical story to it while the music is more modern. On the album Paisley also sings critical lines. In the song "selfie#theinternetisforever" the country artist sings about the selfie culture and the stupid ways people find to take selfies. In the title track Paisley and Fogerty criticize the typical supporting of the troops. "They send you off to die for us and forget about you when you don't," is one of the lines of the song.
